The lil'iguana Show
Overview:
The lil' iguana Show is a series of 13 half-hours targeted toward the pre-school audience. Broadcast throughout the United States, this series is filled with fun,
music, stories, crafts and humor.
The series was a co-production of WABU-TV in Boston, lil' iguana, Inc. and J.E.L.T, Inc.
The lil' iguana Show was specifically designed as a fun, joyous and safe place for pre-schoolers. A place where parents can be secure, knowing that their children will
not be threatened, frightened or subjected to violence. Children will see loving and lovable characters in warm, funny relationships, hear heartwarming stories, and
learn valuable lessons.
Bonnie Silva, Jim Tomaszewski and Bob Gordon, the producers of this series, combined the talents of Dr. Carla Seal-Wanner, Ph.D. in Development Psychology, and, writer,
Ned White as part of the team to create the stories and environment. This sensitive and age-specific series was then designed to deal with everyday issues such as problem
solving, relationships and safety. Composers Jeff Loeb and Stephen MacDonald created the songs and score, which help to reinforce the messages. The songs draw from many
musical genres and bring to life the stories and puppetry.
Along the way, the series also deals with childhood safety, teaching children, through short music videos, basic strategies to keep them from harm. The lessons in this
series are taught subtly, through stories and songs, which allows children the freedom to actively participate in the learning process.
While the underlying theme of the series is education, the most important element of The lil' iguana Show is fun. If you can't keep the attention of the audience, you
can't get the message across. The adorable characters, upbeat music, colorful sets and engaging stories combine to make a compelling viewing experience for the audience.
lil' iguana is rapidly becoming a force in other media:
