Philosophy Behind our Curriculum

The lil'iguana's Children's Safety Foundation would like to announce the completion of its much anticipated safety curriculum. Developed for use in schools,child care centers and at home, the lil'iguana Safety Curriculum, is a comprehensive program that teaches kids how to be safe.

Development and testing of this program took almost four years to complete. The focus of the curriculum is to teach children how to be safe in a creative and non-threatening fashion. Not to preach, but inform subtly through stories, music, role playing and positive reinforcement. By employing these techniques in a user friendly presentation the children respond without knowing that they are being taught and it stays with them.

This curriculum was developed in conjunction with the lil'iguana's Children's Safety Foundation, (MSOL) Massachusetts Safety Officers League, Educators, and Health Officials.

This Program empowers those working with young children to provide a effective method of teaching the importance of safety and well-being.
